Peer review and publication ethics

How manuscripts are evaluated and the standards we expect from everyone involved.

Peer review process

From submission to decision

1

Submission

Manuscript received and acknowledged.

2

Screening

Editors check scope, format and similarity.

3

Peer review

At least two independent experts review.

4

Decision

Accept, revise or reject, with comments.

5

Publication

Final checks, production and release.

Reviewers are selected for their expertise and must declare any conflict of interest. The editor makes the final decision based on reviewer reports.

Authors

  • Submit original, unpublished work
  • Cite all sources accurately
  • List only genuine contributors
  • Disclose funding, conflicts and AI use

Reviewers

  • Keep manuscripts confidential
  • Review objectively and on time
  • Declare conflicts of interest
  • Do not use unpublished work

Editors

  • Decide on merit alone
  • Ensure fair, unbiased review
  • Protect confidentiality
  • Act on misconduct concerns

Integrity

Plagiarism and misconduct

Manuscripts are checked for similarity before review. Plagiarism, duplicate submission, data fabrication or manipulation will lead to rejection, or retraction if found after publication.

Corrections

Corrections and retractions
